Masala is a unique Organic Ethnic food Deli at the Pool end of North Street, Bedminster.
Masala attempts to use Fair Trade products and local organic food, wherever possible. Masala
also stocks a fine selection of cheeses and dairy produce, many from local, named farms,
like Tree Tops Farm. The products include Stinking Bishop and Daisy & Co's Black Eyed Susan,
Goldilocks, and Indian Blanket. Masala provides many ingredients for imaginative vegetarian dishes,
including organic juices and presses, and a wide variety of Mediterranean, Middle Esatern and
Asian foods, organic herbs and spices.
Naturally Masala stocks ingredients for authentic currys and pasta dishes. Fresh fish direct
from Cornwall is a recent development, providing an important resource for this part of
Bristol. Locally made frozen currys are also available.
Masala supports wherever possible community events, where customers can enjoy Fair
Trade coffees, teas and chai at the chai bar.
Opening times are:
Monday to Saturday, 9.00 a.m to 6.00 p.m
Masala's website also has unique ceramics and textiles from North Africa and Asian
workers' and women's cooperatives
The atmosphere is reminiscent of a festival; relaxed, informal, and the ideology is good
customer service and satisfaction.
